我知女人心 (I Know Women’s Hearts)

Background

A complex chain of events led this to becoming the very first KPX project. The production wanted “UK level of production values” which led to a crew of key suppliers and heads of department consulting on the format and production, and being on the ground in Beijing for a few weeks. 100 contributors with wireless keypads, pixel-mapped LED product synchronised with the voting and key lights, and studio graphics presentation. The production continued after we left Beijing, which meant fully training the local crew covering engineering, operational and troubleshooting methods and processes. This the first example of one of our projects being fully localised – we can switch languages at the press of a button to aid training, and allow local crew to work in their preferred language for all key aspects of the software user interface.

Synopsis

我知女人心 (I Know Women's Hearts) is a gameshow loosely based around some of the same concepts as "Take Me Out". The show was hosted by the late CCTV broadcaster Lǐ Yǒng (李咏), who was known for his unorthodox presentation skills and flamboyant style. 100 eligible young ladies (the panel) answer subjective or opinion-based pop culture, fashion, music and dating questions and a potential suitor has give their answer, and determine how many of the panel agree with him. Those ladies continue to remain in the game, which continues until either the suitor has lost the entire panel, or just one lady remains in play. The final game sees them working together to win a romantic date or holiday.
